The project “Increasing Civil Society Participation in Climate Action” is one of the projects implemented by the Ozone Network from March 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid. It aims to strengthen the capacities of local civil society organizations and empower them to organize efforts, advocate for environmental issues, and address the impacts of climate change in Iraq. The project covers all 19 Iraqi governorates, targeting the building and development of the institutional performance of 25 local partner organizations and assisting them in achieving financial sustainability and legal compliance. Its field activities include preparing an annual report on climate change in Iraq, holding seminars and digital awareness campaigns, as well as organizing joint dialogue sessions with the National Initiative for Energy Support and Emission Reduction to unify governmental and civil perspectives. It also includes awarding the Ozone Prize to activists in the field of environmental protection.
